This February, ROY G BIV Gallery proudly presents two concurrent exhibitions. Megan Mosholder creates illuminated installations based on mathematical formulas. Mark Reamy layers 35 mm film to create surreal landscapes.

This February, Brandt-Roberts Galleries will be featuring new works by select gallery artists. They will also display a select group of artwork created by students at Columbus Academy.

This February, Rivet will be featuring “Be My Valentine”, a group exhibition. This exhibition has Ohio artists putting their own mark on the childhood Valentine card. “Be My Valentine” is a special collaboration with Igloo Letterpress who graciously donated cards to artists.

In February, Marcia Evans Gallery will show “Journey/Destination” an exhibit by Cameron MacPhail. Originally from Ohio, Cameron is currently living in San Francisco and is a graduate of the Academy of Art pursuing his passion for photography and adventure.

The exhibit will run through March 29.

This February Gallery Hop, Terra Gallery presents “Kaleidoscope”, featuring acrylic paintings by Karen Groeniger and mixed media works by Trish McKinney and Yasue Sakaoka.

This month at Studios on High, mixed media artist Ryan Orewiler and fine beadwork artisan Mikelle Hickman-Romine show off how to be civilized with their urban and urbane works with the exhibit “Urban Intricate”. Orewiler’s distinctively detailed screen prints and paintings capture the habitat of the urban dweller and Hickman-Romine adorns the inhabitants with her hand-crafted beaded jewels.

The urban gentry will find something to delight the city-loving soul at Studios on High Gallery this February.

This month, the Oak Room invites you to experience a three month long interactive exploration of “Crossroads”, intersections of chance meetings and change. The Oak Room kicks off its second year by inviting artists to share their stories of significant moments in life.

This February, Lindsay Gallery presents the works of Amber Groome and Chas Ray Krider. Groome and Krider work in media that could not be more different, but there is something about Groome’s tough yet lovely doll sculptures that resonates with Kridler’s cinematic fashion and erotic photography. Both are intuitively modern, use dreamlike tones and are undeniably fetishistic.

Pizzuti Collection
Complimentary admission for educators

The Pizzuti Collection values and recognizes the critical role of art and educators in shaping future generations.

To encourage educators to include Pizzuti Collection’s exhibitions in their curriculum, educators and administrators will receive complimentary admission during visiting hours through the month of February from 11am – 5pm on Fridays and Saturdays. In addition to complimentary admission, the Pizzuti Collection will offer educators staff-led tours and educational handouts.

 

 

What The Rock?!
Artist Anthony “Tank” Mansfield

Visual artist/illustrator Anthony “Tank” Mansfield is returning to Columbus with a solo show of prints at What the Rock?! for Gallery Hop this February. Mansfield lived in Columbus from 2003 through 2008 and is incredibly excited to show his artwork again in the state’s capital.

Mansfield states, “I always loved living in Columbus, it’s a great city, that is filled with people who are always looking to do new things, very progressive, and support artists. There will always be a special place in my heart for this city.”

 

 

Brothers Drake Meadery

This February, Brothers Drake Meadery will be hosting photographer Luis Algarin.

Luis is an open soul who lives in the moment. He’s traveled the world with the intention of capturing his experiences with his camera lens to share with us through his unique perspective. Luis is also one of the Meadery’s beloved bartenders, and his customers have longed for him to share his work with them.

 

 

 

 

Short North Alliance

Local artist Joey Terrill

The Short North Alliance is pleased to have the opportunity to exhibit the artwork of Joey Terrill, the AIDS Healthcare Foundation Columbus Project Manager who plays a role in the operation of the Out of the Closet Thrift Store and AHF Pharmacy that have been established in the Short North.

A series of Joey Terrill’s paintings are currently on display in the Short North Alliance office, located at 21 E. 5th Avenue.

This February, Big Fun will be showcasing the work of Cleveland artist George Czybra.

Local artist Arlo Moon

Stone Village’s art gallery welcomes local artist, Arlo Moon, and his amazing art pop exhibit, “181 pop ecl-8”. The exhibit focuses upon modern pop art from a cultural anthropology aspect, utilizing mixed media as a means of interpretation. Arlo’s exhibit will be on exhibit through the month February.

Stop by Kifle this February, where Julian Cennamo will be opening his art exhibition titled “New Work on Paper”. Kifle will be launching the designs of some of the most talented women in Columbus. Beautiful clothing and jewelry by Armana Asefa, unique scarves and jewelry from The Dark At Heart by Jessica Gillespie, and colorful Ill La La Designs bags and clothing by Sheila Denanyoh.

Kifle has brought together a team of talented designers who come from different backgrounds with special influences in each collection. It will be a social evening to celebrate and enjoy our creative local entrepreneurs.

Three generations of artists

Three generations of the Shuttleworth family will exhibit their work at UOF Art the month of February. Dr. Edwin C. Shuttleworth, an accomplished water colorist and member of the American Watercolor Society, will have work on display with his son, Edwin Shuttleworth III, who paints landscapes in oil, and his son’s daughter, Kathleen, who will display her photographs and paintings.
