Viewpoints mural series events

Viewpoints Mural Series Docent-led Tours

Starting on Gallery Hop Saturday, the Short North Alliance will be offering monthly docent led tours featuring the Viewpoints Mural Series, which will run until October.

A next docent-led tour, which will feature the northern end of the District, will start at New Work #169 by Jordan Tate at 1081 N High St. This tour will be held on Saturday July 12 at 4pm.

The tours are expected to be an hour long.

Sean Christopher Gallery Ohio
815 N High St

Sean Christopher Gallery Ohio will feature Material World, a group exhibition featuring painting, sculpture, glass, and video by six 20-something artists experimenting with a variety of materials, media, and conceptual processes within their respective disciplines to come together and place a creative ‘footprint’ on the Columbus art scene.

The exhibit will continue through August 30.

 

 

 

 

 

Sharon Weiss Gallery

For July Gallery Hop, Sharon Weiss Gallery presents Ohio native John Behling and his paintings from The Redemption Series, I Will Always Love You.

John states that in his painting, he can give a new meaning and evidence that life existed. He still clings to the emotional belief that to know a place one has lived in is to honor that place. He hopes his paintings do just that.

This exhibit will run from July 4 to July 30.

 

 

 

 

ROY G BIV Gallery

ROY G BIV Gallery presents three exhibitions of photography by Dominic Lippillo, Jason Schwab, and Jessica Naples from July 5 until July 26.

Lippillo erases family photos to search for the essence of family and home. Schwab explores the facade of identity through fabricated images. Naples remembers discarded objects through text-based photography and installations.

An artists’ talk will be held on Saturday July 26, from 7-10pm.

 

 

 

 

Brandt-Roberts Galleries

Brandt-Roberts Galleries presents new works by contemporary artists with an emphasis on landscape painting including works created en plein air and in the studio.

The exhibit will culminate in an event with several of local artists painting en plein air in the Short North and Goodale Park area on Saturday, July 19 from 1-3pm.

pm gallery is currently showing Art Lost and Found. This collection by local artist Susan Sturgill features original etchings and lithographs, which are available for a limited time. Susan has retired so her unique take on mermaids, God, gardens, and food will soon be gone.

 

 

Studios on High Gallery

Studios on High Gallery will feature Roosts, Posts, & Perches, which will run until July 31.

Watercolorist Helen Neumann and stoneware sculpturist Judy Hoberg create humorous interpretations of animals as they assemble their dwellings in very surprising places, turning our world into their unique and unexpected habitats.

 

 

 

 

Rivet
1200 N High St

This month, Rivet will feature Nocera + Reno: a print show. Rivet, in conjunction with the Ohio Art League and curated by Bob Amos, present an exhibition featuring the works of Ohio artists Clinton Reno and Nicholas Nocera. Both recognized for their gig posters, each will present work inspired by lyrics and songs from a vast genre of music. Limited edition, affordable screen prints will be available for purchase.

This exhibition will run from July 5-20.

 

 

 

 

Sherrie Gallerie

New at Sherrie Gallerie for July, ceramic artist Laura Jean McLaughlin will exhibit her figurative sculptures, on which are wonderful drawings that tell a story about life and relationships.

Melinda Rosenberg’s New Work will continue to be on display at Sherrie Gallerie through July 26.

Marcia Evans Gallery will continue to feature artists John Evans & Andrew Lidgus.

John Evans is an Ohio-born artist, who masterfully carves wood, marble, and bronze sculptures, and has created work nationwide and abroad in Italy. Chicago artist Andrew Lidgus uses handmade papers, oil pastels, wax pencils, and gouache to craft his mixed media collages, from simple geometric forms into fascinating vignette from ancient history and mythology. Blending his love for art and music has brought Andrew worldwide recognition from private and corporate collectors.
