Short North Wireless, an authorized Verizon Wireless retailer, offers much more than Verizon products. They sell service, in more ways than one. We’re talking about personal and professional consulting services and the services provided by wireless carriers, specifically Verizon. Whether tech-savvy or completely amateur, customers will find all the essentials for fulfilling their wireless technology needs.
The store is corporately owned by Cellution Group, a telecommunications consulting company based out of Dublin. They specialize in offering business-to-business solutions and serving business employees with a highly personal relationship. Cellution Group uses its retail stores as hubs to serve businesses and assist them with the software, strategies, and daily procedures that are becoming progressively popular and vital to the telecommunications industry. That includes the latest in cellular phones, wireless data devices, accessories, and customized services.
With its proximity to downtown and all the companies there, Short North Wireless is a great asset to Cellution Group business customers. They would also like to roll out an additional level of services for personal customers. They work hard to provide the most up-to-date devices and advice available. Cellution Group keeps all its retail employees exceptionally well-versed on the technology front. Paul Kilzer, founder, president, and CEO of Cellution Group, says that they specialize in smart phones of the BlackBerry variety but that associates are trained also on all manner of smart devices.
The store here in the district has an inside support team, managed by Jon Clevenger, who works closely with Paul and the rest of the leadership team at Cellution Group to stay in the loop regarding the latest trends in wireless technology. Paul explains that over the next 24-36 months we will start to see new technology that can reach data processing speeds of up to twenty times the current capability, allowing for more live video streaming and an IP and wireless interface known as Long Term Evolution (LTE). Cell phones won’t be the only things that take advantage of the new wireless standard—eventually any type of technology or equipment that requires routine maintenance, such as cash registers or espresso machines, may come equipped with LTE network chips. Serving as somewhat of a red flag indicator of malfunctioning machinery, this feature will relieve some of the difficulties of assessing and determining problems and defects in technology.
At the rate that these new and innovative options are developing, people are bound to be baffled by jargon and mechanics. That’s why Short North Wireless is currently doing free consultations and free rates reviews. The store is divided into two sections, with the front allocated for the retail sale of Verizon products and the back devoted to the business aspect of services.
Cellution Group bought Short North Wireless in 2007. Short North Wireless offers device consulting, carrier migrations and consolidations, and billing audits and management. Regardless of carrier or contract, customers can get a free reading on their accounts at the store.
“Have your account reviewed every four months,” advises Paul. “The industry is so competitive and fast-paced that if you don’t [check], there are likely new offerings and cheaper deals out there.”
